Mission Statement :
The Meditation Instructor Training course offers a comprehensive program to those dedicated individuals who wish to share this powerful modality with others. The course has woven together traditional elements that honor the lineages of which these teachings stem while using contemporary language and focus for modern day applications.

Who is this training for?
This 180 day training program is designed for those with a meditation background who wish to effectively share this modality with others.
The program draws from many different meditation traditions and has a sincere intention to preserve their integrity as meditation blossoms in modern times. We will cover both the traditional aspects of the practice and equally how they apply in contemporary settings.
The course is heavily weighted on the experiential aspect of the practice. The trainings will be done once a month with another virtual check-in mid month. The homework however will be daily.
Students will be expected to carry a daily meditation practice with a strong commitment to consistency, along with an extensive required reading assignments and check ins with the mentors.
The students can be expected to dedicated 4-5 hours weekly on homework related meditations and reading.
Course will be held at Southern California’s premier holistic education center ~Sacred Roots Holistic Healing in Long Beach, Ca.

Wendy N. Block started practicing meditation at age 18, studying different traditions, including Buddhist, Hindu, and Advaita paths with various teachers. She has been practicing Vipassana meditation for the past 15 years, and has helped organize meditation programs in Long Beach for the past 10 years. She has trained with cognitive psychologist Zindel Segal to teach Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
Wendy teaches MBCT, Mindful Self Compassion, and Buddha’s Path classes. She completed the Dedicated Practitioner’s Program at InsightLA and Spirit Rock Meditation Center. She has been teaching MBCT for Kaiser Permanente for the past three years. Wendy co-leads the Long Beach sitting group, as well as the North Orange County Sitting Group.
She currently works as a therapist integrating mindfulness and psychotherapy.

Cayce Howe is a Senior Meditation teacher for InsightLA and is an authorized teacher in the Theravada Buddhist lineage. Cayce’s meditation path started over 25 years ago and includes nearly 6 years of living and working at meditation retreat centers. He has studied and practiced in a variety of traditions and draws from many different lineages in his teachings.
Currently Cayce teaches meditation at two mental health facilities in Southern California. He is a founding teacher for the InsightLA Long Beach branch, where he regularly teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self Compassion, and other mindfulness and meditation offerings. Cayce is the Sacred Roots Resident Meditation Instructor and has been for 6 years!
This training will be held the first Saturday of the Month: August 2019 – January 2020 (second Saturday in Jan) from 10-4 pm
Prerequisites include one of the following:
- 200 hour yoga teacher training
- Equivalent study of reiki // martial arts / qigong / tai chi // psychologist // MFT, LCSW
- Extensive practice regiment TBD. Please submit practice/retreat history and why you would be a good fit for this program.
